So, I’m a coffee drinker….every morning, it’s a must have! I’m also a little impatient, so I like to set my coffee up the night before, and, luckily our coffee maker has a timer, so it’s programmed to be ready when I get up during the week. On the weekends, it’s at least set up so all I have to do is hit the button. Now, I keep my coffee in a neat little canister on the counter, but the filters were another story. Our coffee maker came with a re-usable filter, but it was always such a mess to clean every day that we started buying the paper filters (the cone filters). And, since we’ve had this coffee maker, the filters have always stayed in the original box in a drawer next to the coffee maker with just an end open to get them out.
Now, I know, opening a drawer and pulling out a box to get a coffee filter doesn’t seem like that much of an issue, but, they were a pain to get out of the box, so it was just a little frustration each night when it was time to set up the coffee. I decided I needed to find some other solution!
Hello Dollar Tree 2/$1 baskets!! Perfect fit and I used the other one for the miscellaneous can openers and such that were tossed in another drawer! Now, the filters are easy to get to, I can get just the one I need and the whole drawer just looks like it has more of a ‘purpose’ than just a random storage area!
I know it’s not a ‘big project’, but in the grand scheme of daily life, it makes things flow a little smoother! And, at only $1 for a simple storage solution, my daily coffee routine is just that much better!!
Now, if I can just get the time and motivation to get the pantry shelves, hall closet shelves and other storage solutions done in the house:)
