Another small project in Texas

While we were in Texas, and while we had the insulation out, we decided to go ahead and get the downstairs bathroom taken care of as well. The shower surround, drywall and insulation had been torn out due to the water damage when the pipes burst and has been sitting this way ever since! On my first trip out there, when I asked my brother where the bathroom was, he kind of joked and said, well, there’s one upstairs, or, there’s one downstairs, but it’s kind of ‘in the open’:)

Initially the shower supply pipe was too short, so during my first trip there, we picked up the extension and shark bites to make the supply line taller, however, when it got installed, it was too tall, so my husband took it apart, cut it down and reinstalled it adding a support brace behind it.

Then, I put insulation in the exterior wall cavities (making sure not to allow the paper to touch the pipes) to get it ready for a new shower. This was not a project on the list, but, it didn’t take long to take care of and now it’s ready for a new shower surround and drywall!

No more view of the garage from the bathroom:))

While work continues on my mom’s sunroom add-on, and I’ve also got several other projects in the works, I wanted to go ahead and get these pics posted and soon I’ll add the living room flooring from my first trip out there. That should take care of all the Texas projects!
